The module on Science Communication examines how scientific research is shared through traditional routes such as journals and conferences, as well as newer platforms like social media. It considers the varying techniques and skills needed to communicate effectively with different audiences.Diagnostic Biochemistry focuses on modern approaches for identifying genetic links to diseases, highlighting technologies like next-generation sequencing and genome-wide association studies. It covers diagnostic techniques, evaluating their benefits and limitations, and explores how genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics interact with biochemical networks.In Advances in Biochemical Pharmacology, students study the development of new drugs and the impact of genetic variability on drug responses. This includes understanding pharmacogenomics and ethical considerations in the global healthcare landscape.Advanced Research Methods trains students in laboratory and analytical skills essential for biomedical science. Topics include experimental techniques, data analysis, and research ethics. This is supported by the MSc Research Project - Preparation module, which ensures students are ready to carry out ethical and statistically sound lab work.The Pathology of Immune and Blood Diseases module provides in-depth knowledge of disease mechanisms, focusing on the immune and blood systems, and the diagnostic tools used to study them.The MSc Research Project - Data Collection allows students to conduct independent research, developing skills in project planning, data interpretation, and scientific communication. It culminates in a written thesis and oral presentation.Finally, the Professional Development module enhances leadership, project management, and reflective practice skills.
