COURSE CURRICULUM

The master's program offers a variety of core modules across different pathways to build expertise in project management, research, and technical skills. In the general IPOS route, students will undertake a Research Practice module that equips them with the skills required for master's-level research, preparing them for their dissertation or final project. This dissertation is a year-long in-depth research project where students demonstrate sustained independent study and critical application of methodologies. Additionally, a Project Management module is included, focusing on the initiation, planning, execution, and completion of projects with an emphasis on appropriate methodologies, standards, and risk management. For those following the Information Technology Management pathway, modules such as Managing Information in the Digital & Global Environment explore digitalization and globalization trends, while Database Systems & Approaches focuses on evaluating and critiquing database management systems. Similarly, the Smart Computing pathway includes modules like Smart Systems, where students develop Internet of Things (IoT) applications, and Cloud Computing Technologies, covering cloud service building and security protocols. The Intelligent Systems & Robotics module introduces autonomous systems and AI, with hands-on experience using tools like ROS and MATLAB. Finally, the Software Engineering pathway delves into Advanced Software Engineering, which covers service computing and software design as services. Students also explore Software Engineering for Service Computing, focusing on service-oriented architectures and relevant technologies. Across all pathways, Project Management is a core module, reinforcing the skills needed to manage complex projects. The Dissertation in each pathway serves as the culmination of the program, allowing students to apply their knowledge to a real-world research project that reflects their specific interests, ensuring both academic and professional relevance.
