COURSE CURRICULUM

The Lean and Agile Engineering module equips students with the analytical skills to understand how organizations adapt to fast-changing markets and evolving product requirements. It explores lean product development philosophies and practices that enhance agility, efficiency, and resource utilization. In the Simulation and Modelling module, students learn how industrial systems can be modeled and simulated to improve productivity and reduce market response times, with an emphasis on practical applications and evaluation of outcomes. The Research Practice module supports the development of essential research skills at the master’s level, focusing on methodological understanding, critical reflection, and personal academic development. Engineering Systems Control introduces students to real-time control challenges, using advanced Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems, emulation software, and remote monitoring tools that incorporate web-based and wireless technologies. In Eco Engineering, students explore sustainable engineering practices, focusing on environmentally conscious design strategies such as recyclable material selection, minimal material use through Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and design for manufacturability and assembly. The Project Management module covers key aspects of planning and delivering successful projects, including the use of standards and methodologies aligned with industry expectations. It focuses on the core knowledge areas required for effective project leadership and risk management. Finally, the Dissertation provides an opportunity for students to conduct an in-depth research project in an area of personal or professional interest. This module encourages independent study, critical thinking, and application of learned skills to explore complex engineering challenges. Together, these modules offer a comprehensive foundation in modern engineering practices, preparing students to innovate and lead in technologically dynamic environments.
