COURSE CURRICULUM

This architecture program offers a comprehensive framework that combines design development, theoretical inquiry, technical proficiency and professional awareness. In Design Studio 1, students begin by engaging with a wide spectrum of tools and techniques to establish a critical foundation in design thinking. Through contextual critiques, they explore how social, economic, historical and technological issues influence architectural processes. Design Studio 2 builds on these methodologies by encouraging students to apply their developing skills to a contextual project, bridging the gap between conceptual thinking and practical application. This progression leads into Design Studios 3 and 4, where students undertake thesis projects. These modules focus on producing integrated, complex architectural designs with an emphasis on technical resolution, personal design language and critical reflection. Studio 4 culminates with the submission of an Integrated Design Report that aligns representation with practical technical considerations.Parallel to the studio work, Context Studies A introduces architectural theory and its historical development, equipping students with the critical tools to interpret and question contemporary architectural thought. Context Studies B deepens this exploration, helping students to synthesise interdisciplinary discourse and develop a personal theoretical framework. Technical competence is addressed in Technology 1 and Technology 2, where students engage with detailed building design, construction methods, materiality and environmental strategies. These modules support the development of sustainable and structurally sound design solutions within the broader architectural narrative of their studio projects. Finally, Professional Studies prepares students for practice by addressing the legal, regulatory and managerial aspects of the profession. Topics such as construction law, project management and professional ethics are examined, ensuring students graduate with an understanding of their responsibilities as future architects. Altogether, the program fosters an integrated approach to design, balancing creativity with critical analysis and professional readiness.
