This physiotherapy course offers a structured and progressive journey toward becoming a registered physiotherapist, combining academic learning with extensive clinical experience. In Year 1, you’ll build a foundational understanding of the human body and physiotherapy’s core disciplines—musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems—while developing academic and professional skills. Early exposure to clinical practice through a taster placement ensures a smooth transition into the healthcareenvironment.Inn Year 2, you’ll deepen your knowledge through specialist modules in cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, and neurological physiotherapy. You’ll apply this learning during two major clinical placements, gaining hands-on experience in varied settings. Modules such as The Complex Patient and Research Methods help you develop critical thinking and holistic care approaches, supporting your ability to manage more complex cases.In your final year, you’ll complete three substantial clinical placements, bringing you to the minimum 1,000 hours of clinical experience required for professional registration. You’ll further refine your clinical reasoning and communication skills through modules like Advancing Practice, while Leadership in Healthcare prepares you for the realities of professional practice in a modern NHS context. Research in Context gives you the opportunity to design a project relevant to real-world physiotherapy practice, reinforcing your evidence-based approach.
