In the second year, the curriculum expands into more applied and career-oriented learning. Work Placement & Employability Skills offers a ten-week placement that helps students develop transferable skills and gain professional experience. Research Methods introduces students to essential techniques in social science research, preparing them for advanced academic work. Ecology & Ecosystems and Earth Surface Processes provide deeper insight into environmental dynamics and ecological interactions, with a focus on climate change and biodiversity. Modules like International Field Trip and Natural Hazard Management & Climate Adaptation explore global responses to environmental challenges, while Remote Sensing & GIS equips students with essential technical skills for spatial data analysis.
