This Data Science and AI degree program provides a progressive curriculum that combines the fundamentals of data analytics, computer science, machine learning, and database systems. Students also gain an understanding of databases, their development stages, and ethical considerations, laying the groundwork for more advanced study. The Fundamentals of Computer Science module ensures that students develop a broad knowledge of areas like software engineering, AI, cloud computing, and big data, giving them a well-rounded understanding of the field. The year culminates with an introduction to computer programming, equipping students with essential coding skills.Year 2 dives deeper into the application of data analytics, machine learning, and database systems. The Applied Data Analytics & Visualisation module introduces students to various analytical methods used in real-world applications, while the Machine Learning Techniques for AI module focuses on developing the AI skills needed to create intelligent systems. Students also gain practical experience in designing and implementing databases and working collaboratively on a team project to develop and present a solution to a real-world problem. Programming for Data Science helps students refine their coding skills, focusing on the specific requirements of data science projects. Additionally, the Digital Transformation module examines how data and AI are shaping industries and transforming business practices.In the final year, students have the opportunity to develop a product for an external client through the Production Project module, where they will research, design, implement, and evaluate the project. This hands-on experience allows students to apply their learning in a practical, real-world context. The Advanced Machine Learning Techniques for AI module takes students’ machine learning skills to the next level, preparing them for more complex AI challenges.
