This Cyber Security and Digital Forensics program offers a strong balance of theoretical grounding and practical application across key areas of computer security, programming, and investigative techniques.In year 1, students build foundational knowledge in computing and cyber security. Modules like Fundamentals of Digital Forensics introduce key investigative tools and legal protocols for acquiring and preserving evidence. Computer Communications lays the groundwork for understanding secure information sharing through networking protocols. Programming is addressed in two parts: Fundamentals of Computer Programming introduces the core concepts, while Object-Oriented Programming builds on this foundation with a focus on reusable and scalable design. Ethical Hacking & Penetration Testing helps students learn the tactics and mindset of hackers to better secure systems, while Fundamentals of Databases teaches both the structure of database systems and the professional ethics of handling data.Year 2 expands this knowledge into more complex areas. Digital Forensics Processing delves into the legal frameworks and advanced tools used in investigations. Cyber Security Landscapes introduces cryptographic techniques and addresses how organisations manage IT risk, with attention to both infrastructure and human factors. Web & Network Security focuses on securing modern web applications, using the OWASP Top 10 as a core guide. Digital Forensics Analysis further strengthens practical investigation skills, while the Team Project builds collaboration and real-world problem-solving abilities.In the final year, students apply their accumulated knowledge in practical and advanced contexts. The Production Project serves as a capstone, where students develop a product—often for an external client—and reflect critically on their performance. Incident Response & Investigation trains students in the detection, containment, and recovery processes of security breaches. Finally, Systems Security deepens technical expertise in configuring and auditing secure environments across Linux and Windows systems using advanced security mechanisms.
