Year 1 focuses on building essential skills in music performance, production, and industry awareness. Music Performance Techniques helps students develop technical and ensemble skills for live and studio environments. Music Performance Technologies introduces computer-based performance and sound manipulation. Music Industries and Online Content covers how the music industry works, including intellectual property, online content creation, and digital marketing. Creative Studio Techniques teaches the fundamentals of recording, editing, and mixing using digital audio workstations. Composing for Performance and Production allows students to develop a portfolio of original compositions. Music in Context provides insight into how social, political, and technological factors influence music genres and subcultures.Year 2 emphasizes applied performance and deeper industry knowledge. Live Music Performance develops skills for public performance, focusing on audience engagement. Music Performance Project requires students to create and perform a 15–20-minute live set. Creative Studio Production builds on year 1 studio skills by managing full production briefs. Copyright and Law in the Music Industries explores how intellectual property rights are used to generate value and protect works. Analysing Performance and Production equips students with tools to critically evaluate a wide range of musical styles and production approaches.In the final year, students work on independent and career-focused projects. Music Performance in Practice involves preparing and performing a showcase that highlights individual or group strengths. Music Performance requires students to independently plan and promote their own live event. Music Independent Project is a major self-directed research or practice-based project that reflects each student’s interests and career goals.This course gradually develops technical, creative, and professional skills to prepare students for a variety of careers in music performance, production, and the wider music industry.
