The Event Management program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the event industry, preparing them for careers in this dynamic field. In the first year, students focus on building foundational skills for professional and personal development within the event sector. Modules like "Professional Event Practice 1" allow students to engage in real-world event planning and delivery, both within the university and in industry settings. Students also study "Event Planning," where they explore event design, control, and evaluation using various planning models and theories. "Creative Event Marketing" delves into how marketing principles influence event creativity and design, while "Finance & Revenue Management" teaches the fundamentals of financial decision-making and budget planning in event businesses. Additionally, "Staging Safe Events" ensures students understand the importance of safety and risk management in event production, emphasizing compliance with legal standards.In the second year, students deepen their knowledge by applying theoretical concepts in practical settings through the "Professional Event Practice 2" module. This involves undertaking an industrial event and evaluating the outcomes, allowing for further development of teamwork and event planning skills. The "Event Law" module covers the legal requirements in event management, exploring both English and international law. Students also study "Leadership & Talent Management," which focuses on the leadership skills necessary in event management, and "Experience Design," which teaches how to create engaging event experiences. "Event Production" provides hands-on experience in event staging, power, sound, lighting, and special effects.In the final year, students work on a "Consultancy Project" and an "Event Lab," where they apply their learning to real-world event challenges. The "Strategic Management for Events" module helps students develop the skills needed to manage events strategically, preparing them for leadership roles in the industry.
