The Creative Professional Portfolio series begins, focusing on building reflective practices and presentation skills.The second year deepens engagement with specific forms and techniques. Writing Fictions and Writing Poetry develop students’ skills in creating narrative and lyrical texts, while Screenwriting introduces the fundamentals of writing for film and television. The Creative Professional Portfolio continues with modules on pitching, submissions, and the writing industry, encouraging students to engage with real-world opportunities and consider pathways to publication and employment. Theory into Practice links creative work to literary theory, enhancing analytical thinking and critical awareness.In the final year, students pursue more independent and experimental work. Life Writing and Experimental Writing explore advanced creative non-fiction and avant-garde approaches, pushing boundaries of genre and form. The Creative Writing Project, a year-long supervised module, allows for a sustained piece of original work, encouraging both autonomy and peer collaboration. The final Creative Professional Portfolio modules focus on future planning and public engagement, helping students build a five-year creative strategy and present or publish their work to a wider audience.
