COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Public Policy offers a curriculum designed to build the knowledge, analytical ability and practical skills required to understand and shape policymaking at different levels. Core modules such as Policy in Practice: Becoming a Policymaker and Policy Portfolio provide hands-on experience in real policy development, teaching students how to design, justify and communicate policy proposals effectively. Researching Politics and Policy: Skills and Evaluation strengthens methodological abilities, enabling students to critically assess policy impact using evidence-based approaches, while Theories, Concepts and Debates in Public Policy explores key ideas, frameworks and contemporary challenges shaping the field today. A wide selection of optional modules allows students to tailor their studies to areas of personal interest or professional ambition, including international diplomacy, sustainable development, immigration policy, social welfare, multilevel governance and the European Union, or policy ethics and dilemmas. Additional options such as Careers and Employability in Global Affairs and Policy in Action support career development and applied learning. By integrating academic study with practical skills, the program prepares graduates for roles in government, NGOs, international organisations, consultancy, advocacy or research, equipping them to contribute to meaningful and effective policy solutions.
