COURSE CURRICULUM

This program in Psychology of Child Development and Education provides a comprehensive understanding of how children think, learn and develop from early infancy through the school years. Core modules such as Cognition in Infancy and Preschool and Cognition in the Classroom explore how cognitive abilities emerge and change across early childhood, and how learning environments can be designed to support children’s development effectively. Developmental Psychology examines key theories, milestones and influences on social, emotional and cognitive growth, while Neurodivergent Development focuses on differences such as autism, ADHD and learning difficulties, and how to create more supportive and inclusive approaches to education. Understanding Humans Through Data and Critical Thinking and Workplace Skills equip students with analytical, research and problem-solving abilities now essential in evidence-based educational practice. Students also receive training in research methods, culminating in an independent Research Dissertation that develops expertise in designing and conducting rigorous psychological research. Through these integrated components, the program bridges scientific knowledge with practical application, preparing graduates to support children’s learning needs, engage with diverse educational challenges and contribute to improved educational and developmental outcomes across a range of professional contexts.
