The MSc in Medical Statistics provides a comprehensive and rigorous training in the theory and practice of statistical methods applied to medical and health research. Students develop expertise in advanced statistical modelling, learning to design, analyse, and interpret complex datasets, which is essential for evidence-based decision-making in healthcare. The program covers clinical trial design and analysis, enabling graduates to evaluate interventions and understand their effectiveness, while modules on epidemiology and disease modelling equip students with the skills to study the distribution and determinants of health conditions in populations. Computing and algorithms for statistics provide practical experience with modern statistical software, ensuring that students can implement sophisticated analyses in real-world research settings. Estimation and inference modules build a solid foundation in statistical reasoning, allowing students to draw valid conclusions from data. In addition, survival and longitudinal statistics teach methods for analysing time-to-event and repeated measures data, which are critical in many medical studies.
