COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Environmental Sustainability offers a comprehensive program designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to address pressing environmental challenges. Core modules provide a strong foundation in eco-innovation, sustainable development, environmental governance, and management, as well as local and global perspectives on environmental sustainability. Students engage with real-world challenges through initiatives that explore local environmental issues and learn to develop practical solutions. The Master’s dissertation allows students to conduct in-depth research, applying analytical and problem-solving skills to a topic of their choice. Optional modules offer further specialisation, covering areas such as climate change and food security, applied data science for biodiversity, environmental impact assessment, geoinformatics, energy transition management, and the social dimensions of environmental change. By combining scientific understanding with social, economic, and technological perspectives, students gain the ability to evaluate and implement sustainable solutions across multiple contexts. Graduates of this program are prepared for careers in environmental consultancy, sustainability strategy, policy and governance, natural resource management, and non-governmental organisations, as well as opportunities in academic research. The MSc equips students to make meaningful contributions toward sustainable development, empowering them to address complex environmental problems at both local and global scales and promote long-term resilience for communities and ecosystems.
