COURSE CURRICULUM

The curriculum is research-focused, with no formal taught components. Students undertake a full-year research project in biomedical science, which forms the core of the program. This includes literature review, hypothesis formulation, experimental design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Potential research areas include cancer biology, infectious diseases, neuroscience, or molecular medicine. Students receive training in advanced laboratory techniques, ethical considerations, and research methodologies as needed for their project. Regular meetings with supervisors provide guidance on progress and skill development. Assessment is primarily through a 50,000-word dissertation, an oral examination (viva voce), and possibly a research proposal or progress reports. The program encourages participation in seminars, conferences, and journal clubs to enhance research communication skills. No elective modules are available; the curriculum is tailored to the individual's research interests and supervisor expertise.
