COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLB Hons Law with Criminology degree integrates comprehensive legal education with an in-depth study of criminology, equipping students with the skills to navigate the complex intersections of law, crime, and society. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge through modules such as Contract Law, Criminal Law, Legal Systems and Justice, Public Law, and an introduction to criminology, establishing a strong base in both legal principles and the social context of crime. In the second year, the program expands into areas including Land Law, Tort Law, and Criminological Thought, while offering optional modules that cover a wide range of contemporary and specialised topics such as Cybercrime, Human Rights, International Law, Youth Justice, and Crime and Popular Culture. This allows students to tailor their studies to specific interests and emerging issues in law and criminology. In the final year, students consolidate their expertise with core modules like Equity and Trusts Law alongside a variety of optional advanced modules, including Environmental Law, Green Criminology, Mass Atrocities and War Crimes, Legal Advice Clinics, and the Law Dissertation. Through this interdisciplinary approach, students gain practical experience, critical thinking skills, and ethical awareness, preparing them for careers in legal practice, criminal justice, policy, advocacy, and research, with the ability to address complex social and legal challenges effectively.
