COURSE CURRICULUM

In Year 1, the eight core modules bring all students to the same foundation level. Core modules include: Calculus, Further Calculus, Complex Methods, Physical Systems, Discrete Mathematics, Linear Algebra, Probability, and Statistics. In Year 2, you will study subjects including Quantum Physics, Electromagnetism, and Relativity. The core modules are complemented by choices from a range of theoretical and experimental physics and astrophysics topics. In Year 3, you undertake a major individual project. This runs over two terms and can include the development of new experiments, outreach, or a research project. You will also choose from a range of advanced honours options including Quantum Information, Particle Physics, Atomic Physics, Lasers, Energy, Fluids, and Space Physics. The core modules in Year 3 include Statistical Physics and a Group Project.
