The BSc (Hons) Mathematics with Economics program offers a structured pathway from core mathematical foundations to advanced economic analysis and quantitative modelling. In the first year, students build essential knowledge through modules such as Matrices and Calculus, Probability and Statistics, Principles of Macroeconomics and Principles of Microeconomics, with options including Logic and Discrete Mathematics, Multivariate Calculus and Mathematical Modelling and Programming to broaden mathematical skills. In the second year, the course deepens analytical understanding through core study in Linear Algebra, Applied Data Science, Microeconomic Analysis and Multivariate Probability and Statistics, while optional modules such as Macroeconomic Analysis, Games and Strategic Behaviour, Real-world Dynamics and Mathematics of Artificial Intelligence allow students to tailor learning to areas of interest. The final year focuses on advanced quantitative and economic techniques, with core study in Statistical Inference and a wide range of specialist options including Econometrics and Data Science in Economics, Behavioural Economics, Global Macroeconomics and Policy, International Trade and Business, Mathematical Finance, Dynamic Modelling, Stochastic Processes, Time Series Analysis and Public Policy Analysis. Through this flexible structure, students develop strong problem-solving, data analysis and modelling skills and gain insights into how mathematical tools inform economic policy, financial markets and global decision-making, preparing them for careers in finance, consultancy, policy, research and data-driven industries.
