COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Hons Economics and Finance program provides students with a comprehensive foundation in both economics and finance, combining theoretical understanding with practical skills to prepare for careers in financial services, policy, and business. In the first year, students develop essential knowledge in accounting, financial markets, macroeconomics, microeconomics, mathematics, statistics, and professional development, establishing the analytical and quantitative skills needed for advanced study. The second year builds on this foundation with modules in macroeconomic and microeconomic analysis, corporate finance, and econometrics, while optional modules allow students to explore areas such as financial time series analysis, asset pricing, and management accounting, enhancing their ability to apply economic and financial theory to real-world problems. In the final year, students engage with advanced corporate finance, global macroeconomics, and the frontiers of economics, with optional modules covering topics such as banking and behavioral finance, data-driven econometrics, ESG and energy finance, fintech, international trade, labor and health economics, and public policy analysis. Throughout the program, students develop critical thinking, quantitative analysis, and problem-solving skills, enabling them to evaluate economic and financial issues, interpret complex data, and make informed decisions. This degree equips graduates with the versatility to pursue careers in finance, consulting, government, and international organisations, or further study in economics and finance.
