COURSE CURRICULUM

The curriculum is structured over three years. Year 1 introduces foundational knowledge with modules on Social Work Practice, Understanding Society, and Contemporary Social Problems. You will also undertake preparation for practice. Year 2 builds on this with modules including Social Work with Children and Families, Social Work with Adults, Law for Social Workers, and Mental Health in Social Work. It includes 70 days of practice placement. Year 3 focuses on advanced topics such as Critical Reflection in Social Work Practice, Social Work Research, and specialist electives like International Social Work or Substance Misuse. This year includes 100 days of practice placement and a dissertation. Throughout, there is emphasis on skills development through simulations, role plays, and real-world placements, ensuring integration of theory and practice.
