COURSE CURRICULUM

The Investment and Financial Risk Management MSc at Kingston Business School is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of investment strategies, risk assessment, and financial decision-making. In Teaching Block 1, students study Financial Modelling and Data Analytics, which develops the quantitative and computational skills needed to analyse financial data and model investment scenarios. Risk Financing introduces methods for identifying, measuring, and mitigating financial risk, while Financial Engineering and Fixed Income Analysis covers structured financial products, derivatives, and fixed income instruments, providing tools for complex portfolio management. Teaching Block 2 focuses on applied financial analysis and investment strategies. Bank Financial Risk Management examines risk in banking operations, including credit, market, and operational risks. Portfolio Theory and Investment Banking explores investment decision-making, asset allocation, and the functioning of financial markets, while Financial Statement Analysis equips students with the skills to evaluate corporate performance, profitability, and risk exposure. In Teaching Block 3, the Dissertation and Research Methods module allows students to undertake an independent research project, applying theoretical knowledge and analytical techniques to a specific area of investment or financial risk management.
