COURSE CURRICULUM

The core modules of the Game Development (Programming) MSc are designed to build advanced technical skills and professional competence in modern game development. The Digital Media Final Project allows students to design and develop a substantial, self-directed game or interactive application, demonstrating programming expertise, problem solving and creativity. 3D Game Programming focuses on the development of complex game systems, including graphics, physics, animation and performance optimisation within contemporary game engines. Digital Studio Practice introduces professional workflows, collaborative development methods and production management techniques commonly used in the games industry. Connected Games Development explores the creation of networked and multiplayer game experiences, covering client–server architectures, online interaction and real-time communication. Machine Learning and Deep Learning introduces intelligent techniques that can be applied to games, such as adaptive gameplay, player modelling and procedural content generation. Together, these modules provide a strong balance of technical depth, practical application and industry relevance. Students graduate with a solid portfolio and the skills required to work as game programrs, technical developers or software engineers, equipped to contribute effectively to professional game development teams and the wider interactive entertainment industry.
