COURSE CURRICULUM

The Forensic Psychology MSc is a one-year full-time program structured around four core modules, each worth 30 credits, along with a 60-credit Psychology Dissertation. The Research Design and Analysis module develops essential research skills, focusing on methodology, data analysis and ethical considerations required for psychological research. Applications of Forensic Psychology explores how psychological theories and evidence are applied within forensic settings, including assessment, intervention and risk management. Investigative and Legal Processes in Forensic Psychology examines the role of psychology in criminal investigations and legal proceedings, helping students understand how psychological expertise supports policing, courts and the justice system. Antisocial Behaviours Across the Lifespan: Treatment and Intervention focuses on the development, assessment and management of antisocial and offending behaviour at different life stages, highlighting evidence-based approaches to intervention. The Psychology Dissertation allows students to conduct an independent research project in an area of forensic psychology, applying theoretical knowledge and research skills to a specialised topic. Together, these modules provide a strong balance of theory, research and applied learning, preparing graduates for professional roles in forensic and criminal justice settings or for further training and study toward chartered forensic psychologist status.
