COURSE CURRICULUM

The core and optional modules of the Electronics and Robotics MSc are designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of modern robotic systems, combining electronics, intelligent control and advanced computing. Electronics and Robotics Integration focuses on bringing together hardware and software components to design and operate complete robotic systems. Industrial Robotics explores the application of robots in manufacturing and automation, covering robot programming, control and safety in industrial environments. Sensors, Actuators and Embedded Systems develops essential knowledge of the components that allow robots to perceive, interact with and respond to their surroundings. Machine Learning introduces techniques that enable robots to learn from data and improve performance over time. Research Techniques, Innovation and Sustainability equips students with research and analytical skills while encouraging innovative and sustainable engineering solutions. The Dissertation allows students to undertake an independent research or applied project, applying their knowledge to a specialised area of electronics or robotics. Optional modules such as Applied Deep Learning enable further exploration of advanced AI methods, while Human Robot Interaction examines how robots are designed to interact effectively and safely with people. Together, these modules provide a strong balance of theory, practical application and research, preparing graduates for careers in robotics engineering, automation, intelligent systems development and related technological fields.
