COURSE CURRICULUM

The Clinical Applications of Psychology MSc is a one-year full-time program structured around four core modules and a dissertation, providing a total of 180 credits. The Research Design and Analysis module equips students with essential research skills, including the design, methodology and statistical analysis required for psychological investigation. Psychopathology Across the Life Span explores the development, manifestation and treatment of mental health conditions at different stages of life, offering insight into both theoretical perspectives and clinical practice. The Clinical Applications of Psychology module focuses on the practical application of psychological principles, teaching evidence-based assessment and intervention strategies used in clinical settings. Professional Practice develops students’ understanding of the ethical, legal and professional responsibilities of working in psychological and healthcare contexts, fostering reflective and competent practitioners. The Psychology Dissertation, worth 60 credits, allows students to undertake an independent research project, applying their knowledge and skills to a specialised topic within clinical psychology. This combination of modules ensures that graduates develop both academic and practical expertise, preparing them for professional roles in healthcare, mental health services or related fields.
