The core modules of the Biomedical Science: Haematology with Management Studies MSc are designed to combine advanced scientific knowledge with practical business and professional skills. Business in Practice introduces key concepts related to management, leadership and organisational operations, helping students understand how biomedical and healthcare services function within wider business and professional contexts. Haematological Malignancy provides in-depth insight into cancers of the blood and bone marrow, focusing on disease mechanisms, diagnostic approaches and current clinical practices. Immunology and the Biology of Disease develops understanding of immune system function and its role in the development and progression of disease, linking immunological principles to haematological conditions. Research Techniques and Scientific Communication equips students with essential laboratory, analytical and communication skills, enabling them to design research, analyse data and present findings clearly and professionally. The Research Project allows students to apply their scientific and managerial learning through an independent investigation, demonstrating critical thinking, problem solving and research capability. Together, these modules offer a balanced blend of biomedical science and management-focused study, preparing graduates for a wide range of roles in clinical laboratories, research settings, healthcare organisations and biomedical-related management or leadership positions.
