COURSE CURRICULUM

The Sustainable Fashion: Business and Practices MA at Kingston University is structured around core modules that integrate sustainability, ethics, business strategy and creative practice. In Teaching Block 1, Sustainable Fashion Impacts and Responses introduces students to the environmental, social and economic challenges facing the fashion industry, exploring how businesses and designers can respond effectively. Sustainable and Ethical Practices examines responsible sourcing, circular economy principles, labour standards and ethical decision-making, providing the knowledge to implement sustainable practices throughout the fashion value chain. Teaching Block 2 focuses on Business Operations and Innovation, equipping students with skills in strategic planning, operational management and innovative problem solving within a sustainable business context. Design for Social Impact encourages students to apply creative design thinking to projects that address social and environmental challenges, fostering practical solutions with measurable impact. Teaching Block 3 culminates in the Capstone Project, where students undertake an independent, in-depth project that synthesises learning from previous modules, allowing them to demonstrate their ability to develop sustainable, ethical and commercially viable solutions. Together, these modules provide a balanced combination of theoretical insight, practical application and strategic thinking. Graduates are prepared to influence the fashion industry positively, pursue roles in sustainable fashion management, consultancy, design or entrepreneurship, and contribute to meaningful, change-led initiatives.
