COURSE CURRICULUM

The curriculum is project-based and includes core modules such as: Fashion Design 1 (exploring personal design philosophy through research and experimentation); Fashion Context (critical theory and cultural studies in fashion); Fashion Design 2 (advanced prototyping and collection development); and a Capstone Project (independent major project with dissertation or report). Optional modules may include professional placement for an extended 2-year option, allowing industry experience. Teaching methods combine studio practice, workshops, lectures, seminars, tutorials and critiques. Assessment is through portfolios, presentations, written work and exhibitions. The course emphasizes sustainability, inclusivity and digital innovation in fashion. Students engage in live projects, collaborations with brands like All Saints or Burberry, and visits to London fashion events. The curriculum fosters skills in 2D/3D design, pattern cutting, garment construction, illustration, trend forecasting and business acumen. For the placement year, students secure internships to apply learning in professional settings.
