COURSE CURRICULUM

The Pharmaceutical Science with Regulatory Affairs BSc (Hons) is structured over three years to progressively build scientific knowledge, practical skills, and professional awareness. In the first year, students develop a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, and physiology relevant to pharmaceutical science. Core modules such as Academic Skills for Molecular Sciences, Chemical Foundations: From Atoms to Pharmaceuticals, Introduction to Biosciences and Pharmaceutics, and Pharmaceutical Concepts, Analysis, and Ethics introduce key scientific principles, laboratory basics, and ethical considerations. The second year places greater emphasis on organic and medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical analysis, and the behavior of drugs in living systems. Students explore drug design and synthesis, formulation, pharmacology, immunology, and the role of microorganisms in human disease, while developing independent laboratory and research skills through modules such as Analytical Techniques for Molecular Science, Organic and Medicinal Chemistry with Global Medicine and Personalised Healthcare, Pharmacology, Formulation and Pharmaceutics, and Practical and Research Skills in Pharmaceutical Science. In the final year, students study advanced and specialized areas including industrial drug manufacture, innovative research, and modern drug delivery systems. A year-long research project allows students to apply theoretical knowledge in an experimental context. Core modules such as Advanced Analytical Techniques and Applications, Advanced Drug Delivery and Formulation in Pharmaceutical Science, Project, and Regulatory Affairs for Pharmaceutical Science prepare graduates for professional roles in pharmaceutical science and regulatory environments.
