COURSE CURRICULUM

The Adult Nursing BSc (Hons) program progresses through three years of study, gradually building the knowledge, skills and professional confidence needed for clinical practice. In the first year, students are introduced to the scientific foundations of nursing, including life sciences, public health and the core principles of adult nursing. These modules help develop an understanding of health and wellbeing in a diverse society while equipping students with the interpersonal and professional skills needed to build effective relationships in healthcare settings. The second year focuses on person-centred care, clinical assessment, reasoning and decision-making. Students explore holistic care across the life span and gain experience in managing both acute and long-term conditions within adult nursing. This year also strengthens their ability to use evidence-based practice and deepens their knowledge of pharmacology, with an option module allowing exploration of a specialist area. In the final year, the program prepares students for transition into professional practice by developing leadership, management and teaching skills. Students learn to appraise evidence critically, support learners in practice and understand complex care delivery across health and social care systems. By the end of the course, graduates are ready to enter the nursing profession with strong clinical competence and confidence.
