COURSE CURRICULUM

Across the three years of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering BEng (Hons), you will progressively build the technical depth and practical expertise needed to understand and innovate within modern engineering systems. Year 1 establishes a strong foundation through essential modules in mathematics, physics, circuits, programming, and engineering principles. You will learn how microcontrollers work, how electronic systems are structured, and how core theories support real-world applications. In Year 2, you advance into more specialised areas such as analogue electronics, digital systems, signal processing, artificial intelligence, and control systems. You will also develop skills in computer-aided electronic design and gain an understanding of engineering project management, preparing you to work effectively on technical projects. By Year 3, the course shifts toward advanced and applied learning. You will study digital signal processing, power systems, advanced microcontrollers, communication systems, and deep learning for wireless networks, gaining insight into cutting-edge technologies that drive today’s digital and energy sectors. The year culminates in an individual project that allows you to apply your knowledge to a real engineering challenge, demonstrating creativity, problem-solving abilities, and technical competence.
