COURSE CURRICULUM

The Fashion Promotion and Communication BA (Hons) is structured to develop creative, analytical, and professional skills across three progressive years of study. In Year 1, students build a strong foundation in fashion promotion, communication, and professional practice while gaining an understanding of fashion contexts and the historical development of fashion media through image, text, and style. Year 2 focuses on developing a deeper understanding of fashion cycles, trends, brand values, ethics, and communication channels, including print, photoshoots, and social media marketing. Students learn to interpret creative briefs and translate a brand’s identity into coherent visual and strategic communication for targeted audiences, while exploring fashion direction, visual narratives, branding, entrepreneurship, risk management, and creative strategy. The final year refines professional practice and prepares students for industry careers by developing cultural entrepreneurship and sustainable creative career pathways. Students complete a major capstone fashion promotion campaign, which may take the form of a visual project, business or marketing plan, or consultancy brief, addressing a real fashion communication challenge. Supported by independent research and professional showcasing, graduates leave with a strong portfolio and the skills needed to succeed as fashion communicators.
