COURSE CURRICULUM

The curriculum is structured around core modules including: Law and Safeguarding Adults, which covers relevant legislation like the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005; Policy and Practice in Safeguarding, exploring national and international policies; Research Methods in Safeguarding, providing skills for evidence-based practice; and optional modules on topics such as domestic abuse, financial exploitation, and inter-professional working. The program culminates in a dissertation where students undertake independent research on a safeguarding-related topic. Teaching methods include lectures, seminars, workshops, and guest speakers from the field. Assessment is through essays, presentations, case studies, and the final dissertation. The part-time option allows flexibility for working professionals.
