COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Robotics with Industrial Application program is structured over two years, combining core and optional modules to provide both foundational knowledge and specialised expertise. In the first year, students begin with mandatory modules in September, focusing on Robotics Systems Science and Intelligent Robotics to build a strong understanding of fundamental concepts. Alongside these, a range of optional modules allows students to explore areas such as Embedded Systems, Biologically Inspired Computation, Data Mining and Machine Learning, Human-Robot Interaction, Internet of Things, and Optimisation and Deep Learning for Imaging and Vision I. In January, the curriculum continues with mandatory modules in Machine Vision and Robotic Mechanical Systems, complemented by optional modules including Embedded Software, Critical Analysis and Research Preparation, Image Processing, Conversational Agents and Spoken Language Processing, Optimisation and Deep Learning for Imaging and Vision II, Systems Thinking and Analysis, and Research Methods and Project Planning, offering students flexibility to tailor their learning to their interests. The second year emphasizes applied experience and independent research, featuring an optional MSc Project and Masters Dissertation, alongside a mandatory Industrial Placement for Engineering and Physical Sciences that provides real-world industry exposure. Additionally, students develop entrepreneurial and creative skills through the Entrepreneurship and Creativity module, preparing them for diverse career paths in robotics research, development, and industry applications.
