COURSE CURRICULUM

The program is structured to provide a strong foundation in software systems while allowing students to tailor their learning through a wide range of optional modules. In September, students begin with the mandatory Databases and Information Systems module, which covers essential concepts in data handling and information management. They can then choose from optional modules such as Computer Network Security, Computer Graphics, Intelligent Robotics, Industrial Programming, and Software Engineering Foundations, enabling them to explore both theoretical and applied areas of computing. In January, students complete the mandatory Research Methods and Project Planning module, which equips them with the skills needed for academic investigation and prepares them for their final project. Additional optional modules during this period include Advanced Human Computer Interaction, Advanced Software Engineering, Data Visualisation and Analytics, e-Commerce Technology, and Games Programming, offering a diverse range of advanced technical topics. The final phase of the program, undertaken in May, focuses on the Masters Project and Dissertation, a comprehensive piece of independent research or practical development work. This project allows students to apply their knowledge to real-world or research-based challenges. Through this balanced combination of core and optional modules, the program supports the development of deep technical skills and specialised expertise in software systems.
