COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Global Sustainability Engineering program offers a structured blend of core and optional modules across three semesters, allowing students to build strong foundational knowledge while tailoring their interests. In September, mandatory modules such as Process Engineering A, Climate Change, Sustainability and Adaptation, and Foundations of Energy introduce key principles in engineering, sustainable development, and energy systems. Students can also choose from optional modules including Process Intensification, Renewable Energy Technologies, and Circular Economy to deepen their expertise in advanced engineering methods and sustainable resource use. In January, the curriculum continues with core modules in Sustainable Processing, Environmental Impact Assessment, and Critical Analysis and Research Preparation, ensuring students develop technical, evaluative, and research skills essential for sustainability-focused careers. Optional January modules like Carbon Solutions, Technology Futures and Business Strategy, Demand Management and Energy Storage, and Green and Sustainable Logistics enable learners to explore specialised areas aligned with emerging sustainability challenges and innovations. The program concludes in May with a mandatory Sustainability Dissertation, providing an opportunity to apply knowledge through independent research on a sustainability engineering topic of choice. This structure ensures graduates gain both comprehensive understanding and specialist insight into modern sustainability engineering practices.
