COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Global Environmental Change and Policy program is designed for graduates with a bachelor’s degree in earth and environmental sciences or a related field, equipping them with multidisciplinary skills to address complex global challenges, including climate change, societal issues, and policy development. The program provides an integrated understanding of fundamental, applied, and communication-based knowledge, enabling students to identify, characterise, and develop effective solutions to a variety of environmental problems. Students gain a thorough grounding in environmental and earth system science, including detailed knowledge of the earth system, which supports informed decision-making for future environmental and policy scenarios. The course also covers strategic environmental assessment, policy frameworks, legal considerations, ethical responsibilities, and health and safety issues, with a particular focus on the marine environment. Emphasising career readiness, the program develops technical, scientific, and managerial skills essential for success in academia, industry, government, and non-governmental organisations. Through a combination of theoretical understanding and practical application, students cultivate the expertise needed to contribute to climate change mitigation, sustainable environmental management, and informed policy development.
