COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Applied Psychology program combines mandatory and optional courses to equip students with advanced skills in research, assessment, and applied psychology. In the first semester, students undertake courses in research with impact, current directions in psychology, and research methods, building a strong foundation in contemporary psychological theory and methodologies. The second semester focuses on psychological assessment, applying psychology in real-world contexts, and advanced research methods, ensuring students can translate theoretical knowledge into practical solutions. In the final semester, students complete an independent project in psychology, providing hands-on experience in conducting, analysing, and reporting research. Alongside these core courses, students can choose from a wide range of optional courses to tailor their learning to specific interests and career goals. Options include topics such as psychology of leadership, individual and team sports, elite sport, marketing applications, coaching psychology, human factors, discourse analysis, social and organisational change, organisational culture, advanced statistics using R, and advanced experimental design. This flexible structure allows students to specialise in areas that align with their professional aspirations, while still developing a robust understanding of psychological principles and research practices. By combining theoretical, methodological, and practical training, the program prepares graduates for careers in academic research, applied psychology, organisational settings, community interventions, and other fields requiring expert psychological knowledge and skills.
