COURSE CURRICULUM

The BEng (Hons) Aerospace Engineering program is structured to provide a comprehensive foundation in engineering principles alongside specialized aerospace knowledge over four years. In the first year, students develop essential skills in electrical and electronic engineering, mechanics, mathematics, and engineering contexts, with an introduction to aerospace and mechanical engineering. The second year builds on this foundation with core subjects such as fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, and design and manufacture, integrating theoretical understanding with practical application. In the third year, students focus on advanced topics including computational fluid dynamics, incompressible fluids, vibration analysis, flight mechanics, sustainable development, and engineering management, with optional modules such as orbital mechanics, space propulsion, energy studies, and automotive technologies allowing for individual specialization. The year also includes aerospace design projects to apply learning to real-world challenges. The fourth and final year emphasizes advanced aerospace engineering, covering aerospace structures, compressible fluid dynamics, advanced thermodynamic applications, flight control systems, and mechanical engineering projects. Optional modules in heat transfer, spacecraft systems, and dynamics enable further tailoring of the program. Throughout the course, students engage in both theoretical and practical learning, using industry-standard tools, software, and laboratory facilities, ensuring they graduate with the knowledge, skills, and experience required to excel in aerospace engineering and related fields.
