COURSE CURRICULUM

The Sports Business Management degree with Foundation Year is structured over four years to develop a strong combination of business knowledge, sport industry insight, and practical experience. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge in business, sport science, and academic skills, including an understanding of human biology, performance, and enterprise. The second year focuses on core business areas such as marketing, finance, economics, and leadership, while introducing students to the structure, policies, and contemporary issues within the sports industry. In the third year, students enhance their practical and professional skills by undertaking a live industry project, completing a research project, and gaining at least 150 hours of work placement experience. They can also choose optional modules aligned with their interests, such as entrepreneurship, human resource management, or international sports development. In the final year, students specialise further by studying advanced topics like strategy, sponsorship, project management, and social media within sport. A key component is the independent research project, where students investigate a chosen topic in depth. Overall, the program combines academic learning, real-world application, and industry engagement to prepare graduates for a wide range of careers in sports business, management, and related sectors.
