COURSE CURRICULUM

The Sport and Exercise Nutrition degree with Foundation Year is designed to build knowledge and practical skills across sport science, nutrition, and performance. In the foundation year, students develop key academic skills while gaining an introduction to human biology, sports science, and the psychological and physiological factors affecting performance. The second year focuses on core sport science disciplines, including anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, psychology, and nutrition, alongside developing essential research and data analysis skills. In the final year, students advance their expertise by examining complex nutritional needs across different populations, including elite athletes and those with specific health conditions. They also conduct a research project, allowing them to investigate a contemporary issue in sport and exercise nutrition. Practical application remains a key focus, with opportunities to carry out physiological testing and apply professional practices.
