COURSE CURRICULUM

The Equine Business Management degree is structured over three years to provide a strong blend of business knowledge and equine-specific expertise. In the first year, students develop a foundation in key business areas such as marketing, finance, and economics, alongside gaining an understanding of the equine industry, horse biology, and project management. This year helps students identify their interests for future specialisation. In the second year, students apply their knowledge through a compulsory work placement of at least 150 hours, gaining valuable industry experience in equine-related settings in the UK or abroad. They also study research methods and media relations, while choosing from a wide range of optional modules such as equine nutrition, performance, event management, human resource management, and stud management. In the final year, students focus on their chosen areas of interest and complete an independent research dissertation. Core modules include sustainability in the equestrian sector, sales and negotiation, and creating equestrian media content. Optional modules allow further specialisation in areas such as therapy and rehabilitation, leadership, sponsorship, and strategic management. Overall, the course combines academic learning with practical experience, equipping graduates with the skills, knowledge, and industry insight needed for successful careers in the equine business sector.
