COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Agriculture program is structured across three years, combining scientific knowledge, practical skills, and industry engagement to prepare students for careers in the agricultural sector. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules such as livestock science, crop science, soil and grassland management, and agricultural technologies, while also developing essential academic and professional skills. Practical experience is emphasized through hands-on training and an agricultural placement that enhances employability. In the second year, the focus shifts to applied knowledge, including farm business management, agricultural policy, agronomy, livestock health, and research methods, alongside industry engagement that allows students to apply their learning in real-world contexts. The final year centers on independent research through a dissertation and explores key themes such as sustainability, social responsibility, and the One Health approach in agriculture. Students further specialize by choosing between advanced topics in crop or livestock science, while optional modules like strategic management, supply chain management, and livestock nutrition provide additional breadth. Throughout the course, students gain critical thinking, technical expertise, and practical experience, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet the evolving challenges of modern agriculture and pursue diverse career opportunities in the global agricultural industry.
