COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc programme comprises 180 credits and provides comprehensive training in data science and artificial intelligence through a combination of core, advanced, and research-focused modules. Students begin with Professional Skills for Data Science and Statistical Analysis for Data Science, developing essential competencies in professional practice, statistical methods, and data interpretation. They then study Techniques in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to build expertise in predictive modelling, intelligent systems, and machine learning algorithms. Data Visualisation and Analytics equips students with the skills to analyse, interpret, and effectively communicate complex datasets through visual tools. Big Data and Decision Making – Case Studies focuses on managing large-scale datasets and applying analytical techniques to support evidence-based decision-making in real-world scenarios. The Generative Artificial Intelligence module explores modern AI technologies, including large language models and generative applications, while Cloud Computing introduces scalable computing environments for deploying and managing data-driven solutions. Programming with Artificial Intelligence develops practical programming skills for implementing AI applications and solving complex computational problems. The programme concludes with a Masters Research Project, enabling students to undertake an independent research investigation, apply advanced analytical and technical skills, and address a real-world data science or artificial intelligence challenge. This integrated curriculum prepares graduates for specialist careers across a wide range of industries.
