COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Agroecology and Sustainable Management is designed to develop advanced understanding of sustainable food and farming systems through an interdisciplinary approach combining ecological science, environmental management, and socio-economic analysis. The programme begins with core modules such as Fundamentals of Agroecology, Food Sustainability and Ethics, and Sustainable Farming Systems, which provide a strong foundation in how agricultural systems can be designed to work in harmony with natural ecosystems. Students also study Soil, Water, Nutrient and Waste Management to understand key environmental processes that influence farm productivity and ecological balance. Global Challenges for Sustainable Futures broadens the perspective to examine issues such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and global food security, while Experimental Design and Qualitative Analysis builds essential research and analytical skills. The Masters Research Project allows students to independently investigate a specialist area of interest in depth, applying theory to real-world sustainability problems. Optional modules such as Regenerative Approaches for Contemporary Farming Systems, Applied Problem Solving, and Precision Farming enable students to tailor their learning towards practical innovations in agriculture, technology integration, and regenerative practices. Overall, the course equips graduates with the scientific knowledge, critical thinking ability, and applied skills needed to address complex challenges in modern agriculture and contribute to the development of resilient, sustainable food systems globally.
