COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Food Business Management programme is structured over three years and combines core business education with specialist knowledge of the food industry to prepare students for careers in food retail, production, marketing, and supply chain management. In Year 1, students build foundational business understanding through modules such as Business Economics, Running a Business, Academic Skills, International and Domestic Perspectives, Organisations and Markets, Work and Wellbeing, and Enrichment Activities, which develop essential analytical and professional skills. Year 2 focuses on applied food industry knowledge with modules including Selling, Negotiating and Networking, Food Marketing and Retail, Food Product Innovation, Managing People and Workplace Success, and Food Product Processing, along with optional modules such as Food Supply Chains and Logistics and Food Retail Buying. In Year 3, students progress to advanced study through modules such as Sustainability and Business Ethics, Integrated Global Business, Strategic Leadership, and Entrepreneurship and Adaptive Management, alongside a Dissertation that allows independent research in a chosen area of food business. Overall, the programme develops strong commercial awareness, innovation, leadership, and strategic management skills tailored to the food sector. It prepares graduates for diverse roles in food business management, retail operations, product development, supply chains, and entrepreneurial ventures within the global food industry.
