This set of modules offers a comprehensive and interdisciplinary foundation for students seeking to drive positive social and environmental change through ethical leadership, innovative thinking, and practical skills development.The module on Ethics, Sustainability and Governance introduces students to the frameworks that support ethical risk decision-making and responsible corporate behaviour. It examines how corporate responsibility, leadership and governance structures influence risk, and equips students to identify and mitigate ethical and sustainability risks that can impact an organisation's long-term success. Building on this foundation, the Postgraduate Research Methods module offers essential research skills that students can apply to dissertations, consultancy projects, or other research-based work. It provides a grounding in leading methodologies and practices that prepare students to conduct meaningful and academically rigorous investigations.Developing Leadership for the Common Good focuses on cultivating leadership qualities rooted in social responsibility and ethical values. Students learn to reflect on their leadership style and develop skills aligned with contemporary leadership theories, all framed by principles of social justice and inclusion. The Social Innovation and Alternative Economic Forms module introduces new ways of thinking about the economy, highlighting sustainable, community-focused approaches and the development of social ventures.Transformative Social Science challenges students to apply theoretical insights to real-world problems, encouraging critical reflection and the use of social science as a tool for progressive change. This approach is echoed in the Social Innovation Solutions module, where students design a social venture to address local challenges connected to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This project-based experience builds problem-solving, teamwork, and partnership-building skills.Applied Social Marketing teaches strategic communication to influence behaviour change, using a consultancy-style approach to understand and address social issues. The Social Finance module expands on this by exploring financial models that support social and environmental goals, examining trends, opportunities, and controversies in both global and local contexts. Finally, the Project Management module gives students practical tools for leading diverse and remote teams across sectors, with a focus on ethical leadership and responsible decision-making. Together, these modules prepare students to take on leadership roles in shaping a more equitable and sustainable world.
