COURSE CURRICULUM

This program provides a comprehensive foundation in public health theory, research and applied practice, equipping students with the skills needed to address complex population health challenges. It begins with advanced research methods, developing the ability to design, conduct and critically evaluate public health research. Core study of public health principles and theory explores the social, environmental and political factors that influence health and wellbeing. Epidemiology modules focus on understanding disease patterns, risk factors and health outcomes, alongside the application and evaluation of epidemiological evidence in real-world practice. Social action approaches emphasise community engagement, health promotion and strategies to reduce health inequalities through participatory and policy-focused interventions.
