COURSE CURRICULUM

The cybersecurity and networking degree program is structured over four years, combining technical depth with practical experience to prepare students for careers in cybersecurity, network engineering, and digital forensics. In the first year, students gain foundational knowledge through modules such as Computer Networking 1, Programming for Cybersecurity and Networks 1, Fundamentals of Computer Systems, Mathematics for Computing, Database Development, Cyber Security Landscape, and Cloud Foundations and Machine Learning. These modules establish a broad understanding of networking, programming, data management, and emerging technologies. In the second year, the focus shifts to more specialized and applied skills with modules like Secure Systems Administration, Computer Networking 2, Programming 2, Cyber Security Operations, and an Integrated Design Project. This stage equips students with the tools to manage secure IT infrastructures and respond to cyber threats effectively. The third year deepens technical expertise through modules such as Advanced Routing, Advanced Switching, Digital Forensic Investigation, Ethical Hacking, and another Integrated Design Project, alongside Research Skills and Professional Issues. These modules emphasize offensive and defensive security strategies, forensic methods, and professional responsibility in the cybersecurity field. In the final year, students further specialize with modules including Web Application Security, Internet Security, Network Simulation, and Regulating the Information Society. They also complete an Honours Project, which allows them to apply their knowledge to a real-world cybersecurity or networking challenge. The program provides a strong balance of theoretical knowledge and hands-on learning, making graduates well-equipped for roles in network security, ethical hacking, systems administration, and cyber forensics, as well as for further professional certifications and postgraduate study.
